  • Huge uptake likely for free insulation programme

On 3 February 2009 the Australian Government announced its $3.9 billion Energy Efficient Homes Package, which offers eligible homeowners up to $1600 for the installation of ceiling insulation in their homes.

Under the program, around 2.7 million homes will qualify for the assistance, designed to improve the energy rating of Australian homes and save households up to 40 per cent on their electricity bills.

“This is a great opportunity for Australians to make their homes healthier and more comfortable and at the same time reduce their carbon footprint,” says Warrick Batt, Managing Director of Autex Pty Limited. “In most cases the Government maximum of $1600 will be sufficient for the full ceiling insulation of a home and owners who take up the offer will continue to feel the benefits for years to come.”

To be eligible for assistance, the installation work must be carried out by an authorised installer and use insulation material that meets required specifications and standards.

“Autex’s comprehensive range of GreenStuf insulation products conform to strict international quality and environmental management standards,” says Warrick. “We look forward to helping homeowners choose and install the right level and type of insulation to ensure they fully comply with the requirements of the programme and get the best possible outcome from the deal.”

With a huge uptake of the programme likely, Autex is advising homeowners to get in early and avoid the installation delays that may occur across the industry. Owners who install ceiling insulation between the programme announcement date of 3 February and the official programme commencement on 1 July 2009 will still be able to claim the rebate.

Autex is pleased to announce the launch of the exciting new DryLife bedware range, an innovative collection of bedding protection products.

The DryLife range includes waterproof mattress and pillow protectors for everyday bedding hygiene, along with super-absorbent bed liners to help cope with incontinence in adults and children. Thanks to advanced fibre technology, DryLife products are soft, lightweight and comfortable to sleep on as well as highly effective at protecting bedding.

“We knew that there was a gap in the market for high-quality, affordable, practical bedding hygiene products,” says Amanda Smith, Autex’s Bedware Product Manager. “We saw the introduction of DryLife as a fantastic opportunity to complement our luxury DreamMaker bedding range and extend our offering to customers.”

DryLife products are particularly suited to allergy sufferers and children because they form a barrier to dust mites and other allergens and because they are free from PVC and associated chemicals.

DryLife bedding protectors are highly durable even through frequent washings and are quicker and more efficient to launder than many other bedding protection products on the market.
